Training Opportunities

Every year, CWFI trains hundreds of volunteers to serve at our VITA tax sites in PA and NJ.  To meet the demand and ensure we are able to offer trainings that accommodate our volunteers' busy schedules, we try to offer as many training opportunities as possible. 

 

2017 PRESEASON TRAINING - VITA Tax Associate Bootcamp

Our intensive VITA Tax Associate Bootcamp will provide the instruction and practice necessary to prepare most tax returns within the VITA scope.  All participants will learn from an IRS-certified trainer and utilize the VITA tax software, TaxSlayer, to prepare for the Advanced certification exam.  Upon successfully passing the Advanced exam, participants will be IRS certified to prepare advanced level tax returns for the upcoming tax season, and also eligible to serve as Quality Reviewers.

Basic & Advanced Trainings (PA & NJ)

 

The bulk of our training in Philadelphia happens in January at Temple University on each Saturday of the month, as well as on MLK Day (Monday, January 15th). You will be able to sign up for these trainings in December. If you have any questions about them in the meantime, please contact us.
