CAMPAIGN FOR WORKING FAMILIES, INC.
Free Tax Preparation & Resource Building
Tax Preparer
Help connect working families with all the tax credits for which they are eligible, which can often add up to thousands of dollars! With the support of the tax site Management Team, as a Tax Preparer volunteer, you will work one-on-one with individuals and families using intake forms and computer software to electronically file free high-quality tax returns. Alternatively, if you are looking to work at a slower pace and in a more relaxed environment, you can elect to prepare Drop-Off tax returns and prepare taxes for customers who will come back at a later time to pick them up. All Tax Preparer volunteers are cross-trained in intake, screening, quality review and the closeout process.

Greeter / Administrative Support
A strong Greeter is essential for creating a welcoming and organized atmosphere at a tax site. You will greet customers and compile all intake documents and assist the Site Management Team with administrative tasks.
Resource Builder
Help families build resources for financial stability by linking them to public benefits, financial resources and savings opportunities. Analyze a taxpayer’s situation in order to determine eligibility for public benefits and other relevant financial support services. In addition, help families build assets by offering and opening fairly priced financial products and savings bonds. Please note that this volunteer position is not available at all tax sites.
Interviewer
Help families get through the tax preparation process by gathering basic taxpayer information, compiling documentation and inputting data into our software program in accordance with IRS guidelines.
